Crosshaven to Spike Island Tour 3-4hrs

Cork Harbour, beautiful one day perfect the next!

Departing from the coastal village of Crosshaven, join us onboard our orange ferry Cailín Óir, for a scenic tour of Cork Harbour before arriving at Ireland’s historic Island that is Spike Island. Spike Island Cork has 1300 years of rich Irish history, which has included a 7th-century monastery, an enormous 24-acre fortress, the world’s largest prison in the 1850s and centuries of island homes.  Today you can sail beautiful Cork harbour to explore its scenic 104 acres, at this award-winning visitor attraction.

Each visitor can enjoy an optional guided tour on arrival and receives a free map and downloadable APP, which can be used to self explore after your tour.

There are over a dozen museums in the island’s fortress, sharing the military, penal, social and harbour history.  The outer island has beautiful signposted nature and walking trails, and for children, there are interactive areas and a ‘Fortress Fairy Trail map’!

Discover our story, your history, at Spike Island Cork.  Cafe and gift shop on Spike Island and a tuc shop onboard the ferry.
